Day 0 - Arrive in Kyoto

Arrival

Land, Check In, Riverside Walk

Transfer: Arrive at KIX and take the Haruka Express to Kyoto Station (around 75 minutes).
Base: Stay around Gion or Kawaramachi for easy evening walks.
Tonight: Gentle walk along the Kamo River and through quiet side lanes.

Day 1 - Fushimi Inari · Higashiyama · Yasaka

Fushimi Inari Shrine

Why early: Fewer crowds and softer light in the torii tunnel.
Pacing: Aim for the lower to mid-level trail, then return before peak arrivals.

🚇 25 min - JR + local transit to eastern Kyoto

Late Morning · 10:00

Kiyomizu-dera and Higashiyama Lanes

Route: Visit Kiyomizu-dera first, then walk the preserved lanes toward Yasaka Shrine.
Photos: Best viewpoints are near the temple stage and upper stone lanes.

🚶 15 min walk - Higashiyama to Gion

Evening · 17:00

Gion Evening Circuit

Atmosphere: Walk Hanamikoji and nearby lanes at dusk.
End point: Finish with a riverside night view near Shijo Bridge.

Day 2 - Arashiyama · Kinkaku-ji · Central Kyoto

Morning · 8:00

Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and River Area

Timing: Start early for a quieter bamboo path.
Walk: Continue to riverside viewpoints for slower pacing.

🚌 40 min - Arashiyama to northwestern Kyoto

Afternoon · 12:30

Kinkaku-ji

Visit: One-way pond circuit around the Golden Pavilion.
After: Return to central Kyoto for final souvenir shopping and evening strolls.
